The app#
The LocalPress app makes these network requests:
- Update checks. When it starts, the app requests
localpress.dev/latest.json(or the same file on GitHub) to see if a new version is available. It sends nothing about you or your sites. Like any web request, the server sees your IP address. - Updates. New versions are downloaded from GitHub.
- Container images. The first time you create a site, your container engine downloads images such as WordPress and MariaDB from Docker Hub.
- WordPress. WordPress is downloaded from wordpress.org when you create a site. Once running, it may contact wordpress.org to check for plugin and theme updates, as it does anywhere.
Your site list, including admin and database passwords, is stored only on your computer, in ~/.local/share/localpress, readable only by your user.
This website#
This website doesn't set cookies or load analytics unless you agree. If we use analytics, you'll be asked first, and nothing loads until you accept. You can change your answer any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and reliability.
Third parties#
Downloads are served by GitHub, and container images by Docker Hub. Their own privacy policies apply to those requests.
